Several of General Trass High School students are using their summer vacation time to get some valuable work experience and make a little money on the side. The summer jobs provide the students with a good work ethic as well as experience in various fields. Summer interns include the following: Mason Ware is gaining valuable work experience through his internship at East Carroll Parish Hospital. As a custodian intern, Mason plays an important role in helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

The skies over Lake Providence will be alight with fireworks Saturday night as the town and parish celebrate the 250 birthday of our nation. This year’s firework display is sponsored by the East Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Wydette L. Williams personally, Gayle and Ricky Condrey and Maria’s Mexican Restaurant.
