Community deals with dog attacks

Last week, Lake Street resident Prudence Grissom was taking her trash to the road, her dog Beaux accompanying her, when, with little warning, a pack of five dogs came toward her aggressively. Grissom said that Beaux jumped between her and the dogs which led to them attacking Beaux. The dogs turned on Grissom when she tried to get them away, before a woman from the neighborhood came out with a large stick and beat them off of Beaux. According to Grissom, the woman said, “These are the same dogs that killed my chickens.”

The Lake Providence Snake Rodeo has been around since the 1960s, though it has not been held every year. A rule change, however, proposed by the La.
