Police jury has financials but no decisions

The East Carroll Police Jury held its monthly meeting last Tuesday in front of a packed house of mostly quiet but concerned citizens. According to jurors, they had financial reports in their hands, after two months of not having them, but had not had the chance to look over them fully.

Parker honored for service after 27 years as LDWF agent

Wayne Parker, retired recently as captain from the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, attended the Louisiana Wildlife Agent Association’s annual convention in New Orleans where he received an award. Parker had 27 years with the department, and attended every annual conference during his career.

Bass tournament to be held on Lake Providence

East Carroll Bass Club will sponsor the 42nd Annual Lake Providence Bass Classic this Saturday, March 21. The doubles or singles tournament has a 75 boat limit with an entry fee of $150 per boat. The first place prize is $3,000. Fishing time is 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. with check-in and weigh-in at the airport boat landing.
