Celebrating the lives of East Carroll residents

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I sure did. I drove to Branson, Missouri, all by myself and met my brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew. We had such a great time. The trip wasn’t bad. I have an older vehicle, and I still have a CD player, so I listen to audio CDs. And I had a great one. (And yes, I also played Christmas music).

Nonprofit shows people how to care for dying loved ones

Liz Dunnebacke isn’t dying, but for a recent end-of-life care workshop in New Orleans, she pretended to be. Dunnebacke lay still atop a folding table that was dressed as a bed, complaining that her legs hurt.

Hospital board settles lawsuit

The board of the East Carroll Parish Hospital at its meeting last week authorized the settlement of a lawsuit that has been ongoing for a number of years. In 2019, Joe Banks Flooring was subcontracted by Ouachita Builders to lay new flooring in the hospital.

Hicks winner in football contest

Well, it’s all over but the crying! Van Hicks Jr. pulled out an overall win and will receive a check for $100 as the grand prize. Our weekly winner was Aaron Candler. He and two others got top points for the week, but Candler came closest to the tiebreaking number.
