Together for Hope Louisiana received a grant to install a book vending machine at Southside Elementary School, courtesy of Sparklight. According to Leah Lucas, executive director of Together for Hope, a book vending machine works the same way a soft drink machine does, except, in this case, it dispenses books. Children earn credits in a variety of ways, which they can then spend to choose books. The machine will be ordered soon and a ribbon cutting will follow.
