Good morning. Did you know that January 12 is National Pharmacy Day? Neither did I. But I do like to know when a certain day is designated as a special day for a profession that otherwise is taken for granted. Today is National Fig Newton and International Hot and Spicy Day. If you Google special holidays on certain days, it’s hilarious. These nice pharmacists and pharmacy techs at Minsky's Drug Store were nice enough to take a minute and help us honor our local pharmacy crew. They are Deanna Lovell, Ethan Pippin, Chasity Johnson, Landon Hamilton and Shelly Byargeon. So if you have to go to your pharmacy, please wish them a belated happy Pharmacy Day.

Trying to find plants that bloom profusely in the shade during the dreary wintertime can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. Your options are few and far between: Most flowers need lots of sunlight, and many plants simply do not bloom in the colder months.
