Celebrating East Carroll lives

It was Halloween in Lake Providence for two days last week. General Trass High School had a trunk or treat at the school on Wednesday night because of the football game on Thursday night, and Briarfield Academy held its annual Island Point trick or treat event on Wednesday night because of the fall festival on Thursday.

Boo, y’all! Hope everyone enjoys their Halloween. I’m sure the fall festival will be a big hit, and I hope the trick or treaters find a few houses that are giving out candy. It was a busy two weeks with two homecomings. We started it off with General Trass winning their homecoming game 56-26. There has been some high scoring for the Panthers this year. Briarfield then went onto win theirs in a nail biter!

Try new 'spooky' foods this fall

Let's talk about Spooky Foods! Not the Halloween party foods that gross us out like, mummified hot dogs. Let's talk about foods you are afraid to try. When we think of picky eaters and fear of trying new foods, we tend to think of young children, but many adults have certain foods they refuse to try or consume because they decided a long time ago that they just didn't like it. It could be the taste, the texture, the look, or even the smell of the food that makes them shy away from it.

The town was absolutely filled with homecoming activities last week. Pageants, parades, reunions, and tailgating were just some of the activities. It was an awesome time for General Trass High School as the Panthers continued their winning streak. They piled on the points against Block, winning their homecoming 56-26. The defense showed out, sacking the quarterback four times. The win gave General Trass a 5-2 record for the season. The Panthers will face Delta Charter Friday night in Delta. Keep it up Panthers!
