MILLY LENSING For those surprised to see a bird’s nest on a fan or light fixture this late in the year, as it turns out, Mourning Doves are able to mate throughout the year, and in our warmer climate, from February through October. According to the Audubon Society, they also may raise up to six broods per year, more than any other native bird. Incubation lasts around 14 days for two white eggs, and is provided by both parents.
