COURTESY PHOTO Twice last week, East Carroll Parish was beset with thunder and intense lightning. Penny Johnson took this photo of lightning as it struck on Highway 2 just north of the grain bins as the storm was coming through. Despite the threatening lightning and thunder, not much rain hit the area and harvesting has continued.
