REJOICE

Leaders with Delta Interfaith are putting the finishing touches on a celebration event to mark the beginning of the end of a long journey toward better and more affordable internet in East Carroll. Conexon Connect, the internet company that received grant money to build a fiber internet network out in the rural parts of the parish in 2021, has committed to start work on extending that network into businesses and residences in town.

Students learn safety in ag settings

The Louisiana State Cotton Museum hosted the annual 4-H Progressive Ag Safety Day, an event dedicated to enhancing farm, ranch, and rural life safety for children and their communities through educational initiatives. Students from East Carroll Parish received safety training from professionals in various fields, including ATV Safety from Farm Bureau, Grain Safety from Viserion Grain, Seatbelt Safety from the Louisiana State Police, PTO Safety from Goldman Equipment, Boating and Water Safety from the US Army Corps of Engineers, Electrical Safety from Northeast LA Power & Light, Fire Safety from the Town of Lake Providence, and Pedestrian Safety. The event's success is attributed to the collaborative efforts of multiple organizations. Special thanks are extended to the East Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Department, The East Carroll Parish Police Jury, The Town of Lake Providence, and The Louisiana State Cotton Museum for their contributions.
