Water levels for the Mississippi River are high right now, but that’s a good thing, according to Reynold Minsky, president of the Fifth Louisiana Levee District Board of Commissioners. It could get a little higher before it begins to fall, thanks to heavy rainfall up north, Minsky explained. “Last year, it got down to two feet which caused serious problems,” Minsky said. And while levels are considerably better than last year, “it’s a very good possibility it could get low again,” he added.
