Louisiana State Senator Katrina Jackson-Andrews and her entire entourage made a surprise stop at the East Carroll Council on Aging last Thursday, bringing gifts, door prizes and lunch, to an appreciative group of seniors. Jackson-Andrews said that there were nine councils on aging in her district, and she liked to visit them all at least once a year.

Out of the three committee meetings and one special public meeting scheduled for Monday morning, only the sanitation committee meeting was actually held. Randy Walters, Lloyd Whaley, and Roger Clement were all absent at the committee meetings and the special meeting.

Donnie Meadows presided over his first meeting as president of the East Carroll Parish Council on Aging at its regular meeting Thursday, September 25, as the board seated its new officers and approved committee members for the upcoming year.
