An explosion on Lake Street created a shock wave that blew out the windows of a local business and shook the buildings located within a two block radius. The driver of the 18-wheeler said that the brakes locked up while he was turning from the corner of Sparrow Street onto Lake Street, causing six back tires located on the passenger side of the J B Hunt truck to explode. The pressure from the exploding tires caught the trailer on fire and caused the blast wave.

Roasting is one of my favorite ways to cook vegetables. It is so easy and makes vegetables taste so good! When vegetables are roasted at high cooking temperatures, it causes their natural sugars to caramelize. That creates golden, slightly crisp edges that are so tasty.

2 teaspoons chili powder 1 ½ teaspoon ground cumin ½ teaspoon paprika ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper ½ teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon garlic powder ¼ teaspoon onion powder ¼ teaspoon dried oregano ¼ teaspoon black pepper Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl. Store in an airtight container until ready to use. Yields: Equivalent to one taco seasoning packet

A confrontation between two alleged gangs in Lake Providence led to several arrests on July 25. East Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Investigator, Tystin White, said that all but one of the individuals involved were juveniles.
