Chino Express opens to rave reviews

February 12 was a long-awaited day in Lake Providence – Chino Express, the first of two restaurants under the same group, long under construction, opened its doors. The line snaked out the door for the first two weeks, and while traffic has slowed, manager Octavio Gonzalez said they’ve been pleased with the community response.

LDWF to make a decision on black bear season

A black bear hunting season will be up for final consideration next week during the April meeting of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Commission. The commission held public hearings during January this year and received written comments, all to gauge support for legalizing back bear hunting in the state, but only in an area called Area 4, which includes East Carroll Parish.

February is flower time

Two from LP named to honors lists

Christmas Elderly Project serves more than 450 residents

This year we delivered around 450 bags to individual elderly and disabled in East Carroll Parish, plus East Carroll residents at Cypress Nursing Home in Lake Providence, and East Carroll residents at West Carroll Care Center and Carroll Nursing Home in Oak Grove, and Legacy Nursing Home in Tallulah.
