What a weekend it was last week during the General Trass homecoming. Tailgating started early at the park adjacent to the football stadium, and it wasn’t long before the smell of grills filled the air. The weather was perfect, and with floats full of beauty queens in beautiful and colorful ball gowns, a parade proceeded through downtown Lake Providence and back to General Trass High School. I understand that the game was a nail biter but the Panthers pulled it off and got a big district win. Wandering around Lake Providence, I saw so many out of towners. I am not real sure how many visitors we had in LP this past weekend, but I would bet you that it was in the upper 100’s. I know the local restaurants and businesses were all happy with the turnout. It truly was a good day to be a Panther.
